Fundraising Phase II
Phase I of our fundraising was critical for us to compete. You can’t host a track meet of any caliber without safe (and now elite) hurdles, high jump and pole vault. Phase II encompasses not only the storage and transportation tools needed to use our new equipment, but the luxuries required to make us the nicest track and field facility in the state. This will allow us to host meets on par with any high level college competition nationwide.
Steeple Chase Barriers (4): $11,500
Ben Martin Track will become THE elite track facility this side of the state - outside of the University of Tennessee - with the addition of steeple chase. We will have the ability to run steeple events for youth to adults in the 1500m, 2000m, & 3000m. This means Oak Ridge High School will be able to host youth AAU meets all the way to the World Championships. Athletes of all ages can practice, perfect and perform in events most people do not have access to and allow them real chances to qualify for national meets. This will make Ben Martin Track not only a top place to race, but a choice facility for spectators.

Pole Vault Platform: $11,775
Providing proper support for our brand new pole vault pit will extend its lifetime. This provides a year round storage area that keeps pads elevated and free from mud and moisture. As the landing area is raised a full 3”, our pole vaulters will also have less distance to fall.

Shot Return System: $2,910
Shot Return System assists field officials with returning shots to throwers without having to walk back every throw and/or require athletes to go out and retrieve their own implements. Not only does this system increase the speed of shot event times by nearly 33%, it also creates a designated area for participants to retrieve their shot implement rather than walking out into a danger zone.

Track Starting Blocks & Block Cart: $3,690
Durable & comfortable starting blocks with a long-lasting aluminum block cart to easily move blocks from event to event.

Long and Triple Jump Pit Covers: $45.15 per sq. ft.
This aluminum AAE Original pit cover keeps the sand dry while the recessed top provides an additional level of safety protection.

High Jump Platform: $3,900
Elevating and protecting our new high jump landing pad from the elements will definitely extend its lifetime. These platforms provide a permanent year-round storage area that keeps pads elevated and free from mud and moisture. Another plus during practice is that it raised the landing area a full 3”, so our high jumpers have less distance to fall.

Performance Indicator: $945
This indicator displays individual athlete performances for all field events. It is an aluminum frame with the choice of ground sleeve or rollaway base. The panel rotates on a round post for easy viewing.

Distance Markers: $92 apiece
These markers indicate distance for each of our throwing events. Sturdy construction with English measurements in red and metric in black.

Lane Hurdle Dolly: $565 apiece
Necessary for storing our brand new hurdles. These will also greatly speed up set-up time for all hurdle events.

Lane Markers: $160 apiece
These track lane markers are durable, sturdy and easy to move.
